North Carolina Knights of Columbus cosponsored with Room At The Inn a Mass for the
Holy Innocent at Belmont Abbey on January 18, 2009. This event was attended by over 200 participants including State Deputy John Gouldie and several State Officers. Over twenty five 4th
degree Knights were in regalia to honor the event. The next Mass is planned again in January
2010.

Abbot Placid presided over the graveside ceremony and Mass which was concelebrated by
Reverend Timothy Reid and Reverend Francis Cancro. During 1992 128 aborted babies found
in a dumpster behind an abortion clinic were buried at this grave and a headstone for the Holy
Innocent was placed as a marker by the Knights of Columbus.
