Third Degrees

•    Councils wishing to host a Third Degree must get with the State Ceremonials Chairman as quickly as possible to ensure you get the date you want. The Knights of Columbus State Website has a current list of scheduled Third degrees and the dates we cannot hold the degree. Please reference this information before you contact the Ceremonials Chairman.

•    The Third Degree has changed and can be done on either a Saturday or a week night. However, if a council wants to host the degree on a week night, we are only going to start with Friday evenings. This will give our teams and the host council members ample time to go from work, to home, then to the degree to properly prepare.

•    The geographic location of the degree or which team is exemplifying the degree, no longer comes into the decision regarding which degree you can bring your candidates to. In other words, anyone can attend any Third Degree in the State.

•    There are several planning, preparation, and logistical items a council must follow as the host council and this information is under separate cover. It will be sent to the host councils a few months prior to their scheduled degree and cover the following:
    •   Manpower required
    •   Minimum facilities requirements
    •   Communications
    •   Fees
    •    Refreshments / Meals
    •    Responsibilities Checklists for:
        •    Host Council
        •    Host Region
        •    State
