Brother
Knights,
In December, the State Council officially endorsed the McGivney Center
for Life as a NC State Program with the objective of funding the construction
of
the FIRST, college-based, maternity and aftercare cen-ter IN THE NATION.
A worthy ministry focused on creating a positive choice for a mother
so she can
choose life for her child. Achieving our goal will earn the Knights the
naming rights. We’ve been work-ing for 3 years now and as you can see
above we are
making real progress towards the $1 million dol-lar objective.
We have received donations and pledges from individuals and councils representing
about 1,500 of the state’s 17,000 knights or only about 10% participation
and yet we are over 35% of the way home. Our goal this year is to achieve
just
30% participation, regardless of amount. It does not matter how much is
donated or pledged. What matters is that we all pull together in UNITY.
If we do, we
will achieve our goal easily.
The most common objection we get to this program is that it isn’t “local”.
I understand that the needs in our communities are many and yet if we never
come together to make a profound statement in support of life, like the
McGivney Center for Life will be, we stand little chance against the massive,
corporate
power of the abortion industry. If our country only focused on our local
concerns in World War II and not joined our Allies in UNITY, we’d all be
Nazis… If over
30,000 Catholic men in 1571 only focused on their local communities and
not answered the Pope’s call to fight the Turks at Lepanto in UNITY, we’d
all be
Muslims. If we only focus on our locally charities and refuse this opportunity
to act in UNITY, we will concede this country and its next generation to
the abortionists. Please join us.

Room at the Inn will break ground on their new center on June 21st of THIS
YEAR.
We want desperately to break ground not on just any center, but on the McGivney Center for Life
To do that we need you and your council to do the following 3 steps:
If you are an individual Knight, make your pledge today using the form
below. Pledge whatever you can. The amount isn’t as important as the
fact that you
are with us.
Between now and May: Solicit your councils for individual
donations and pledges using the form below. Send it out as a personal
request. Discuss
your progress
at every business meeting. Your council’s progress is available HERE.
In May: After you’ve done everything possible to get
your individual Knights to pledge, make a pledge as a council in whatever
amount you
can.
This is a 5 year program with a very short term need.
Please take these steps and join your brother Knights so that we can
celebrate our success on June 21st.
You can pledge online at www.rati.org or you can send in this form
