2010 State Soccer Challenge

This year, in hopes of providing more opportunites for councils to participate, we will hold the State Soccer Challenge in two seperate locations.  One in Gastonia (west) and one in   (east).

Date: Saturday November 6, 2010

Time: 11:00 am start time

Locations: Martha Rivers Park
1515 Neal Hawkins Rd
Gastonia, NC

Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Chips, and Drinks will be sold at the park.

Directions: From I-85S or I-85N, EXIT 17, GASTONIA-LINCOLNTON/HWY 321 and turn right; proceed south on Hwy321/N. Chester St. to E. Hudson Blvd; turn left for .1 mi; turn right at light onto Neal Hawkins Road.  Martha Rivers Park will be on the right, 1515 Neal Hawkins Road.  Total distance approximately 5 miles.

Places to eat: From Martha Rivers Park go east on Neal Hawkins Rd and turn left at the intersection with Union Rd…approximately ¼ mile. Go north on Union Rd approximately 2 miles to the intersection of Hudson Blvd and the following eating establishments are located at that intersection Wendy’s, McDonald’s, Hardee, Cookout, Taco bell /KFC.

Places to stay in Gastonia: Holiday Inn Express - (888) 897-0084, Courtyard by Marriott - (704) 852-4411, Comfort Suites - (704) 865-6688, Super 8 - (704) 867-3846. All of these are located near I-85 and you can follow the above directions to get to the park.
