16 th ANNUAL ST. PARTRICK’S DAY PARADE AND FESTIVAL

MARCH 17, 2012 IN CHARLOTTE, NC

This year’s St. Patrick’s Day parade will be held on Saturday, March 17th or on St. Patrick’s Day.  The Parade starts at 11:00 AM with the Knights of Columbus leading the Parade.  We have a banner that states “Knights of Columbus” followed by our Color Guard, Fourth Degree Knights in Regalia or Tuxedo and Social Baldric.  We encourage Assembly and Council members to march with us wearing their Assembly or Council shirts or jackets.

We do not carry any Assembly or Council banners just the Knights of Columbus banner, as we are all Brother Knights.

The Parade sets up on North Tryon Street and 9th Street in down town Charlotte and includes Tryon up to the College Street intersection.  We also use the side streets and the Hal Marshall Parking lot for you long time residents in the area.

We will form up at 9th Street and North Tryon and we ask that you be there by 10:30 AM so we can get lined up.  The Parade goes from 9th Street down to South 3rd Street and ends at the entrance of the St. Patrick’s Day Festival.

The Festival is a family orientated Festival with food and beverage booths.  Also included are activities for the children and there will be vendors displaying and selling arts and crafts.  We also have a stage with entertainment from Pipe Bands to Dancing Girls.  THE BEST PART IS THERE IS NO CHARGE TO ENTER.

There are numerous parking garages and surface parking lots around the Festival.  We run a double Decker bus from 3rd Street between Tryon and Church Streets up to the staging area starting at 9:30 AM.  It will also run from this area back up to the staging area after the Parade is over.
