New Optional Fourth Degree Pin: In previous months, I have written about the new Fourth Degree pin (U.S. Flag over the Fourth Degree emblem) and advised that it can only be worn with regalia. I would like to clarify any misunderstanding I may have caused. The pin can be worn any time you wear a baldric. If you are going to an affair where you will be dressed in a tux and wearing the social baldric, you are in regalia! I hope this clears up any misunderstanding that I may have caused.

As you will notice, once again we have two Sir Knights of the Month. These are submitted by Faithful Navigators to me for recognition. When printed, a certificate of recognition is sent to the Faithful Navigator for presentation to the Sir Knight at the next Assembly meeting. Please, FN’s recognize those members who go the extra mile for your Assembly. If it turns out that we recognize three or four men each month, so be it. Every Assembly has SK’s who fit the requirements.

In recognition of his many outstanding accomplishments, Sir Knight Eugene M. O’Dea
is enthusiastically awarded Senator Albert J Ellis Assembly’s Sir Knight of the Month. Sir Knight Eugene, in his role as District Deputy for District 29, has done a masterful job of creating unity amongst four Councils. That unity and fraternal spirit has now extended to the two Assemblies in District 29 as well. By including the Assemblies in his planning conferences, he has fostered a brotherhood that has led to each Assembly supporting the other for individual events. This cooperation, in turn, has led to a more robust support for community patriotic events. His dedication to the Order, his Assembly, and his fellow Knights, along with his commit-met to Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism, make Sir Knight Eugene M. O’Dea truly deserving of this award.
