I have a red hot news flash for you fresh off the presses!
 
We are less than 45 days away from an epic event, as Catholic men and their families from all over the great state of North Carolina will descend on the city Travel and Leisure magazine rated as the most beautiful and affordable place to live in the United States back in 2023.  I am talking about picturesque Hickory, North Carolina.
 
Their Convention Center is all ours for the weekend…and we are going to be doing a lot of celebrating!  Celebrating our accomplishments of the last year – and, even more importantly, celebrating our Catholic faith with our loved ones!  We will have Bishop Michael T. Martin, OFM Conv., presiding at Mass, and helping us celebrate the 50^th priestly anniversary of our beloved State Chaplain Fr. William Lesak!  There will be an opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation, to view a display of Eucharistic miracles, and there will even be a relic display!
 
We’ll have KiKi’s Bird Rescue providing some entertainment for the whole family as part of Friday night’s events, and while the men are conducting business, there will be an English tea, a wine, cheese, and chocolate tasting, a talk about the Mass from Father Amaro, and a chance to pray the Rosary for the ladies.  This weekend is packed with fun for the whole family!
 
This is truly THE Catholic event of the year!  You don’t want to miss it.  It’s just around the corner, and here are some last things you need to do to prepare:
 
Your last day to register with the hotels for our special rate is April 8, and your last day to register for the Convention is April 15.
 
We are going to have a huge display of council banners, so please bring your banner with you!  Show your council pride!
 
Make sure you get Safe Environment compliant and submit those Form SP-7’s and Grand Knight Reports before you arrive, and bring your checks for the Bishop’s Fund, Culture of Life, and Penny a Day, and any items you wish to donate to the LAMB Auction.  And if you are a Sir Knight with the new regalia, please plan on participating in the Honor Guard at Mass.  Let’s show Bishop Martin how we step up as patriotic Catholic citizens.
 
If you miss it, you only have yourself to blame – because EVERYBODY will be talking about the 2025 North Carolina State Convention!  Don’t lose out to FOMO – be there!
