It was great meeting so many new Grand Knights and Financial Secretaries at the CLT in Charlotte. We had a great day of fellowship and training. Let’s take that information and go forth and Build the City of God.
With that in mind let’s focus on Family of the Month; it makes the parish aware that you are noticing the good works that are being performed in the Church and community. Remember any family is eligible for Family of the Month, not just Knight’s families. Get your 10784 into Supreme and the State (forms@kofcnc.org) before the 15th of the month to be eligible for full recognition.
We need participation in the Food for Families program; remember every pound of food you donate goes to those in need and feeds a hungry person within your local community. Hunger is a very serious problem in this country. With the continuing cost of food rising and salaries staying stagnant this need is urgent. Partner with a local food bank and start bringing Jesus to those that need him most. Never feel that your minor donation doesn’t make a difference, because the smallest donation makes a huge difference. Summer food insecurity is a real problem for many children. They rely on free/reduced cost lunches during the school year, and this disappears during the summer months.
I know it’s summer and 100 degrees outside, but it is time to start your planning for Keep Christ in Christmas. The poster contest is a great way to get kids involved with remembering that Jesus is the reason for the season. This contest is open to all children grades K-8. Please refer to the Supreme website to order the kits. The winner of the poster contest gets their poster as a Christmas card next year and if you order your Christmas cards before the end of August you get 50 free bookmarks that your Council can sell for complete profit.
