Happy August Brothers all.
The first month of the fraternal year is behind us, and we are well on our way to Reaching for the Stars and “Building the City of God”. It was great to see the large number of council leaders that attended all the Council Leadership Training sessions. Thank you for taking a few hours of your time out of your day to spend with the State Leadership.
REMINDERS:
Please submit your form 185 (council officers) if you have not already completed it.
Please submit your form 365 (council directors/chairmen) if you have not already completed it.
Did You Know: Every June 30, Supreme clears the data for both these forms in the system. That means there is no contact information for councils on July 1st.
This is why we impress upon all councils that you complete these forms, with what information you have, and submit them by the dates required. We understand that some roles may not be filled. There are only specific roles that are a MUST fill on each form. As long as you have that information on the MUST have roles, you CAN submit. Additionally, you can update the information throughout the year as changes occur; either with filling roles not filled OR leadership changes. This is how information is passed down and councils are kept updated. Thank you for your understanding and compliance.
Council Audits due by August 15th. Our financial training team is here to help if you would like assistance with your Audits. They can provide a 4-eye check of your audit BEFORE you send to Supreme. Many councils do take advantage of this service and it does reduce/eliminate the number of returns Supreme rejects. It is not mandatory you have it checked, but isn’t it nice to know you have this support from the State Council to help you?
BLESSED MCGIVNEY MEMBERSHIP BLITZ DAY AND CEREMONIAL: Members of the State Council will be holding a virtual degree on August 13, 2024 at 7p via Google Meets. We hope EVERY council brings at least one new candidate to the ceremony
PER CAPITA / INSURANCE BILLING:
Council per capita and insurance billing will be issued via email as follows:
Per Capita: August 15
Insurance: September 1
Where did you get my council membership numbers? Great question and thank you for asking.
Council billing for per capita and insurance will be determined by the membership numbers reflecting Active and Honorary (NOT Honorary Life) membership of each council as of August 1, 2024, as reported by Supreme as received from the council.
Who are invoices sent to? Another Great Question! All invoices will be sent via email to the Grand Knight, Financial Secretary, District Deputy and Regional District Deputy.
Why are we sending it to RDD and DD? Sometimes, the email data we have for GKs and FS personnel is not accurate, despite our best efforts. Email addresses change and we (State Council) don’t always get updated on these changes. By including the RDD and DD, they will follow up with their councils to ensure they received the email. If not received, each DD/RDD can forward the email to the respective council leadership.
How do I update the email address to send billing? Please send the correct email address to statetreasurer@kofcnc.org, and cc: statesecretary@kofcnc.org.
All invoicing is due upon receipt. Please make checks payable to “Knights of Columbus NC State Council” Be sure to include your invoice number in the memo section of your check.
Checks are to be sent to:
Rick Lewis, State Secretary
309 Bergen Ave
Apex, NC 27502
Please do NOT send them to the State Treasurer. This will delay processing as the State Treasurer will have to send to the State Secretary to process the transmittal for deposit, and then return it to the State Treasurer for deposit.
Finally, your State elected Supreme Delegates will be in Quebec City the first week of August attending the Supreme Convention. Keep all the delegates and guests joining them as they travel and participate in the important business of our order.
Vivat Jesus Brothers!
Rick Lewis – State Secretary
