My Brother Knights!
Natural disasters, like Hurricane Helene, can leave communities shattered, but they often reveal the remarkable resilience of the human spirit, especially when it comes to financial support from across the state and beyond. In the wake of such tragedies, people come together to help those in need, illustrating the profound impact of generosity on recovery and rebuilding efforts.
After Hurricane Helene devastated Western North Carolina, the charity of others brought light to a dark time. The Knights of Columbus, from individuals to councils, to assemblies, to State Councils and to the Supreme Council, provided vital financial support.
Their generosity allowed the North Carolina Knights to deliver supplies, serve meals to those in need, and begin the process of rebuilding communities. The State Council is deeply grateful for this outpouring of kindness, which exemplifies true unity and compassion in action.
While the outpouring of financial support is heartwarming, it is essential to recognize that recovery from Hurricane Helene is a long and complex process. Your State Council will manage these funds to see that they are expended to support those in need.
In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, the flow of financial support from across the state and beyond exemplifies the power of human connection and generosity. Each dollar contributed is a testament to our shared humanity and an essential part of the recovery journey. As we witness the rebuilding of lives and communities, it’s clear that together, we can rise from the devastation and emerge stronger than ever.
As we look forward to celebrating the birth of Jesus, we have much to be thankful for here in North Carolina. Our community has come together to help in a time of great need in our State.
I believe this is one of the many charitable works that our Founder, Blessed Michael McGivney, envisioned when he established the Knights of Columbus 142 years ago!
I wish everyone a joyous Christmas! To our brothers and communities in Western North Carolina, I pray for the restoration of your lives and the healing of your community.
Vivat Jesus,
