Family - December

It has been a busy year for the Knights in North Carolina. Supreme has introduced several new programs namely for Family, Remembering our Faithful Departed and QuinceaƱera Support. Coming soon a new State Program will be launched in January, more on this program to come. We still need to make sure that we don’t loose focus on the core programs of the Family Program. Food for Families is still an integral program area and is even more important as we come into the holiday season. With Thanksgiving behind us and Christmas looming on the horizon it is imperative that we remember those that are suffering and in need of food supplementation. As our councils plan our Christmas parties and celebrations, don’t forget to make Food for Families a part of the party. Have everyone bring a canned good or other food product to the party.
I have noticed an increase in the number of 10784s that are being completed for Family of the Month and other programs. I have also noticed that several are seriously lacking in any real content. While selecting a family is important, it is also important to put relevant information in the narrative. While I understand that there is only so much you can get into the 10784 with 300 characters; that is why it is important to also send it to
forms@kofcnc.org
. When you send the 1074 to forms, you can add pictures of the event and add supplemental information in the form of a Word document. That extra information will be used at the end of the year to help pick the 10784s for the winning programs for the councils that are handed out at the State Convention in May. I highly recommend that everyone connect to the State Council Facebook page to see what other councils are up to.
Please have a safe and Merry Christmas.
