The 2026 National March for Life
will be held on Friday, January 23rd in Washington, D.C. Pre-march activities begin on Wednesday, January 21st, and the Catholic bishops and laity join together on Thursday, at the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. With the high cost for bus transportation, particularly due to gasoline cost, if you are interested in attending the DC March, the best option may be to arrange a carpool. March information is available at
https://marchforlife.org/national-march-for-life/
.
The Raleigh March for Life and Youth Rally
will be on Saturday, March 7th, sponsored by the NC Right to Life. Yes, the Raleigh March is in March in 2026, not in May as it was the last two years. The
NC Pro-Life Prayer Breakfast
is scheduled for Saturday, January 17th at the North Ridge Country Club in Raleigh. Information on the Prayer Breakfast, Rally and March will be available in late 2025 and early 2026 on the NC Right to Life website:
https://www.ncrtl.org
. Our NC KofC is very supportive of marches across the state and encourages all Knights to demonstrate your support for Life publicly by attending our local and state marches.
The Charlotte March for Life
will take place on Friday, January 9th, 2026. For information, visit:
http://www.marchforlifecharlotte.
Our
Wilmington March for Life
will be on Saturday, February 21st and our new
Belmont Abbey March for Life
will take place on Sunday, April 19th, to benefit MiraVia Maternity Home on the Belmont Abbey campus. Contact Brother Tim Will at
twill1948@gmail.com
for more information on our Marches for Life.
Join your Brother Knights Across the Nation as we Pray for Life
January 16th through 24th, 2026
Each year, the USCCB organizes a Novena for Life to bring people together virtually throughout the country to pray for the protection of human life. Each day’s intention is accompanied by a short reflection and suggested actions to help build a culture of life. There is a national website where individuals can sign up to receive daily emails and/or texts to remind them of the day’s novena prayers.
Each council can promote this program easily,
not only within their council but also in their parish and local community. See the
attachment
with information for your bulletin and pulpit announcement.
This coming year your NC State Council will be setting up a Zoom call for NC Knights to participate fraternally in the Novena each of the 9 nights.
Stay tuned and we will bring you details in December as they are determined.
Please allow January to be a month that you and your council prays for Life and demonstrates respect for Life.
New Life Chairman Programs for FY 2025-26
This fraternal year, 2025-26, your NC State Council has added a new Life Program entitled “
Life Sustaining
” which is intended to both work legislatively to keep Euthanasia or Medical Assistance In Dying (MAID) from being enacted within North Carolina and to assist councils with providing parish Catholic support for those at end-of-life. Brother John Killela has taken on this chairman responsibility. In addition, Supreme has added two new Life areas. The first is “
Gospel of Life
” which is intended for councils to use Catholic documents to clearly explain how we can support Life from conception to natural death. The second is “
Holy Hour with Our Lady of Guadalupe”,
which is a special prayer hour, to be held preferably around Our Lady’s feast day on December 12th. Program explanations are available on the NC KofC website at
https://www.kofcnc.org/Programs/Life
. We will be highlighting these more in early 2026 as we develop resources for your use.
Have a wonderful and faith-filled Christmas season!
Vivat Jesus,
Jim Venglarik
