As mentioned last month, in recognition of the 50^th Anniversary of Operation LAMB being adopted as a State Program by the North Carolina Knights of Columbus, in 2024 the LAMB Goal of every Council will be set at a minimum of $50 per member. If your Council raised more than $50 per member in 2023 your goal will be whatever you raised plus 2%.
So that all being said, if your Council has not made a LAMB deposit yet for 2024, it’s time to get started!
As previously mentioned a few of the ways to raise funds are.
Corporate and Individual Donation solicitations. Send out mail appeals and apply for donations from stores, Walmart, Harris Teeter, Publix etc.
Street Fundraising – although not what it used to be, it is still a vital way to raise funds and as importantly get public recognition of our mission. We recently learned that Harris Teeter had curtailed store collections but many other retailers still do. One of the most successful I have found is standing at the drive up window of Dunkin Donuts and other fast food establishments (thank you Brother Bob Hack for the recommendation!)
Raffles / Auctions – at Council meetings and elsewhere
Church Collections – ask your parish if you can collect after Masses. If you church has Special Needs Children in their Religious Education Classes, you can donate funds from LAMB to pay of materials etc. Also some Parish’s allow a notice in their bulletin along with a QR code for the ad to accept donations.
QR Code – as mentioned a QR image code specific to your Council helps greatly with collections. So far 37 Councils in the state have requested one.
Restaurant Fundraisers – some restaurants run campaigns where a percentage of the sales for the day go to a Charity they choose.
Donation Boxes - primarily at restaurants, not a huge amount but easy money and again it gets the work out about our Mission.
