Brothers,
On your marks, get set, let’s make the last five months of the fraternal year a tremendous success.
Each of us may define success differently, but when we think about our Fraternal Order in North Carolina, success is always grounded in our mission to bring Jesus to the people and places that need Him most.
Success may mean helping your council achieve its goals and reach Star Council. It may mean supporting your Pastor with a particular need, focus, or project. However you measure success, let us strive together to achieve it.
Your State Officers are here to support you, to help guide and assist as needed.
Another important measure of success is submitting your “Of the Year” nominations:
Priest, Deacon, Rookie of the Year, Knight of the Year, Golden Knight, and Family of the Year. These recognitions are meaningful and rewarding, and it is a great honor to be recognized by your peers at the State Convention in May.
This is the perfect time to put together a five-month plan to complete your fraternal year. A helpful planning tool is M.O.S.T.
Mission
– Why do we exist as a council?
Your core purpose and long-term direction.
Example:
To work in solidarity with our Pastor and in unity with our brother Knights to achieve our goals.
Objectives
– What do we want to achieve?
Clear, measurable goals aligned with the mission.
Example:
To become better Catholic gentlemen by doing God’s work and sharing our faith with other Catholic men; to achieve our membership goals — and if we have met them, strive for 200%.
Strategy
– How will we achieve those objectives?
The high-level approach or plan.
Example:
Hold a membership drive using Grey Cards and enlist the support of Father Lesak.
Tactics
– What actions will we take day to day?
Specific steps that bring the strategy to life.
Example:
Meet with our Pastor to share ideas and agree on dates; ensure the council is aligned and supportive; develop a weekly plan leading up to the membership drive.
Let’s finish the fraternal year strong, focused, and united in mission.
