Happy New Year!
Greetings Brother Knights,
As we begin the second half of the Fraternal Year, congratulations for getting through the first half of the year. This is the start of the busy time of the Fraternal Year where multiple items are due and next year’s selection of Officers are beginning. Keep in mind that if the forms are due on a specific date by Supreme, the State Council askes that you submit a few weeks earlier to ensure that errors or omissions can be corrected in a timely manner. As always please submit all forms to the State Warden using the
forms@kofcnc.org
email. Always copy your DD and RDD to ensure that if there are issues later in the next Fraternal Year you have a paper trail to back up any claims that the form(s) were submitted on time.
The January to June timeline for most Councils is extremely busy. June to December is less busy and a copy of the list is being provided to your DD’s at this year’s Mid-Year Meeting. In addition to the list of what is due Annually, a copy of how each Council is doing Financially using the following points:
990 Status
Good Standing – Consistent Filings
At- Risk – No Consistent Filings
Must File – Must file to prevent Revocation
Tax-Exempt Revoked – Need to work with the Supreme Advocates Office
Audit Status
Good Standing – No Issues
Must File – Only Past Due with Previous Period
No Bonding – Past Due 2 or more Periods, Must file 2 or more to have bonding for the FS and Treasurer reinstated.
Per- Capita
Has the amount due on January 1, 2025, for Supreme and State
State billing for the Second Half is done in February.
CR means that you have a credit, please check your billing statements prior to paying to ensure your council is not OVERPAID. The goal is to have a $0.00 balance for councils on both Supreme and State. Some credits occur naturally throughout the year such as inactive credits.
