My Brother Knights!
First, I must again thank everyone for their continued confidence in me! I am very honored to be your State Treasurer!
I am very excited to begin my term as State Treasurer. I have much to learn and look forward to supporting the Brothers of North Carolina in my new role.
I look back on my journey thus far as a Knight and I could not be happier with how it has developed! I joined the local council in town, at the urging of my wife, Anne- Marie, to make more friends in our community. Since that time, as my roles in
Massachusetts changed, two terms as Grand Knight, four terms as District Deputy, and finally elected as Supreme Delegate to the 2010 Supreme Convention, I continued to meet more and more wonderful people!
Then my job was moved to North Carolina, a place I knew little about at the time but, I knew, I wanted to continue being a Knight. I joined St Raphael the Archangel Council #9880 in Raleigh. Through the council, Anne-Marie and I were able to meet many people from North Carolina!
Two years later, I had an opportunity to become DD again here in North Carolina, joining my current council, All Saints Council #9709, in Raleigh. Unfortunately, Supreme only allowed me one more term as DD so instead I took on the role of Deputy Grand Knight and the Grand Knight in my council. I continued to meet more people I consider good friends to this day!
As you know, I have learned from our own Father Bill, messages are threefold (Father, Son, and Holy Spirt). So, my message to you is also threefold. Becoming an active Knight will provide you with the opportunity to:
Get involved in your Church
Get involved in your Community
And, most importantly, grow as Catholic man!
You will make many lasting friendships along the way. You will, also, see how strong Catholic men make the world a better place!
Vivat Jesus,
Joe McCarthy
