Greetings from your General Program Director,
Brothers all, I can see that everyone has been, and is continuing to be, very busy with all of the reports that you have been submitting. As we are entering into the very important season of Lent and Easter, I know that your council will be even more active during this time. In fact, for the rest of the year, I am sure that there will be many opportunities to gather for fraternity while also providing for the opportunity to ask other catholic men to join our ranks.
Now is the time to take stock of what programs your councils have completed and make any plans to be sure that you have what is required to qualify for the Columbian Award. If you have any questions about this or need some assistance, please contact your District Deputy. He will go over what you need to do in order to qualify for this very prestigious award. Also, don’t hesitate to contact any of our Program Directors for suggestions on programs that you can easily complete if necessary.
I look forward to being able to present the many awards to everyone who has earned them during this past year. The State’s overall winning Essay and Keep Christ in Christmas Poster contest winners have been submitted to Supreme for the order wide judging. We have some very talented youth in our state, and I can say that I was very impressed with all of the submittals. The State Officers had a tough time picking some of the winners. The State had 42 councils win the Star Award this past year. What an amazing feat this was. This is a true testament to everyone’s hard work, not only in programs, but membership and other reporting areas. You are not only truly taking Jesus to the people and places those that need him but are providing much needed support to your Parish and Communities.
As always if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me, or any of your Program Directors, at any time. I will leave you with this small prayer to remind you
Divine Creator, as the world awakens from its slumber, I open my heart to the possibilities of this new season. Just as the flowers bloom, may my spirit blossom with hope and renewal. Guide me to embrace the changes in my life with courage and faith. For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die, a time to plant, and a time to pluck what is planted. I thank You for allowing my time to be productive and just as the trees bear fruit, I thank You for keeping my work fruitful and prosperous.
Vivat Jesus
