North Carolina Knights of Columbus
Disaster Relief Program

Our Mission
The North Carolina Knights of Columbus provide rapid, compassionate, and organized assistance to families,
parishes, and communities affected by natural disasters. Rooted in the Order's principles of Charity, Unity,
and Fraternity, our statewide network ensures help arrives when it's needed most.
What We Do

Emergency Response
- Deliver water, food, and essential supplies
- Provide hot meals during relief operations
- Support displaced families and parish communities
- Assist with cleanup and early recovery efforts

State Disaster Relief Fund
- Supported by the Penny-A-Day Program ($3.65 per member annually)
- Funds immediate aid, supplies, and council-level response
- Open for donations from councils, assemblies, and individuals

Statewide Coordination
- Organized through the NC State Council
- Works with diocesan partners and Catholic Charities
- Mobilizes volunteers and resources across all regions
- Ensures consistent communication and unified action

Long-Term Support
- Helps families and parishes rebuild
- Provides manpower for cleanup and restoration
- Supports communities beyond the initial crisis

Why It Matters
North Carolina faces hurricanes, floods, tornadoes, and severe storms every year. The Knights of Columbus
stand ready to serve-bringing hope, practical assistance, and a visible sign of Christ's love to those in need.
How Councils Can Participate

- Enroll members in Penny-A-Day
- Maintain a local disaster-response plan
- Coordinate with district and state leadership
- Recruit volunteers for deployment teams
- Support Catholic Charities and parish relief efforts
