40 Cans for Lent : The Annunciata council 8759 at Kitty Hawk, promoted a campaign to collect food for the Beach Food Pantry during Lent. Our announcement in the church bulletin, urged parishioners to make their almsgiving, the donation of a can or box of food for each of the 40 days of Lent. The Knights assisted by collecting and taking the food to the Beach Food Pantry  every week. By the end of Lent we had collected and delivered 2,856 lbs to the food pantry. The food pantry has not received sufficient donations to purchase food required for the needy in Dare County. They were very grateful for our church’s donations.
