Time to Rekindle the Fire!
As I finalize the Operation LAMB paperwork for 2025, I must report the discouraging news that our statewide collections dropped 6.7% from 2024.
While we rebounded a bit in 2024 from the COVID era, we are now unfortunately taking another downward turn and unfortunately, we are at 63% of what we did 20 years ago in 2006, with fewer Councils and fewer members.
No clear reason emerges from looking at the individual Councils statewide for this trend.
In some Districts, some Councils do great, others not so and sometimes they are the larger Council’s.
While it is true store collections are becoming more difficult, the Council’s that do well have found or expanded on many other ways to raise funds, such as holding fundraising events and corporate and individual donations.
As I have stated in the past, it all boils down to the level of passion for helping those with intellectual disabilities.
Along those lines remember we are having a LAMB Auction at the state convention, another easy way to raise funds!
