Greetings Brothers All and Worthy Grand Knight,

Now that autumn has come, and the holiday seasons of November and December will keep all of us busy with Council programs.  As we continue to celebrate of our Country’s founding (250) please take the opportunity to plan and recognize the men and women who have served in the military.  The first celebration will be Veteran’s Day November 8^th.  It would be nice if you planned a social or a breakfast to recognize their service. 
As you and your family celebrate Thanksgiving, there are many families and individual Veterans who will lack the ability to provide a Thanksgiving meal.  Suggestion:  have a food drive and provide this donation to Voluntary Service at your VA Medical Center.  The social worker will deliver to those in need.  The cut-off date is November 19^th. 
Coats:  New Only.  Coats are always in desperate in the winter months.  If you can collect coats, please have them hooded, nylon shell and water resistant.  Suggested vendors:  Costco, BJ, Burlington Coat factory  Price range $35.00  If you would prefer to send money, I will purchase.  Make the check payable to St. Francis of Assisi Assembly 3552.  In the memo: write VAVS Coats.
Gloves, hats and scarfs:  New Only.  These are needed also particular by our homeless Vets.
Sweat pants and shirts:  Plain gray, blue or black.  Sizes s, m l, xl, xxl  Every VA Medical Center goes through 100s each year.  These are provided to Veterans upon discharge and the CLC.  The VA does not provide.  I suggest Walmart. 
Gift Cards:  $25.00 used by voluntary service for Veteran population.  Last minute request by a Veteran. 
Wreaths Across America—December 13^th at noon.  Volunteers are needed to recognize the sacrifice made by those who served.
