My Brother Knights,
As we end the summer and begin a new season of fall, this change is a testament to just how great our God is. The change in seasons always brings to the forefront just how our good Lord paints a new picture for us to be inspired by and enjoy his love in all things. This change in seasons is also a testament that the lives of our families and friends are intertwined in so many ways. Taking care of those who need life’s essential necessities, is one of the most ethical aspects of a true Christian person. How do we do that? Take Jesus to the places where he is needed the most by performing the Corporal Works of Mercy. These works, feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, sheltering the homeless, visiting the sick, visiting the imprisoned, and burying the dead are just a part of what we do as Knights of Columbus through our various programs. By ensuring that we as individuals participate in these programs, we are truly taking Jesus to those most in need. Please read our Program Directors’ reports to keep up on what is happening within the State regarding a wide variety of activities. Pick one that you feel is close to your heart and participate in that activity. If you have an activity that you wish to participate in and your council does not do it, ask why not and then volunteer to be the lead at that event. You never know, there may be many others in your council that want to participate in such an event. I will leave you with this prayer.
Oh, Heavenly Father, we recognize our need for Your wisdom and guidance. In the midst of our discussions and decisions, may Your light shine upon us. Direct our thoughts and words, so we may make choices that align with Your will. Lord, we trust in Your divine plan. Help us discern the right path and provide clarity when we face uncertainty. We seek Your guidance in every aspect of our lives, knowing that with You, we are never lost.
Vivat Jesus
