The Tar Heel Knight

Membership in the Knights of Columbus is more than carrying a membership card or a pancake breakfast; it’s about living out the principles of Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism in everyday life. When we speak of being an active member, we refer to an individual who is engaged in their faith, in their council, and in their community.
Active membership does not mean doing everything. We have all been given various talents by God, and we should consider using them.  Each Knight is called to give what he can, in the way he can. For some, that means volunteering at parish events, serving as an officer, or leading a program. For others, it might mean lending a hand at a fundraiser, offering support to a brother Knight in need, or simply being present at council meetings to share encouragement and ideas.
What truly defines an active Knight is his willingness to be involved, to support his brothers, and to live the mission of the Order. It is through this spirit of engagement that we strengthen our councils, grow in fraternity, and bring the light of Christ to our parishes and communities.
We all have powerful and joyous memories as Knights: whether it’s serving with family, working alongside brother Knights, or seeing firsthand the difference we make in our communities. Our greatest accomplishments as an order may still be ahead of us. Imagine the impact if each of us invited one Catholic man to join our Order. One invitation can change his life, deepening his faith, strengthening his family, and unlocking his God-given talents for service. Together, let’s grow our brotherhood and build a legacy of faith, family, and fraternity that will endure for generations.
