Program Purpose

Not only does contributing to a Sleep in Heavenly Peace bed build directly improve the lives of children in need, but it builds bonds between all volunteers working towards this common goal. Knights of Columbus members will collaborate with people of all ages and backgrounds - including other church groups, companies, students and caring individuals. Friendships emerge while sawing wood, sharing a meal during break time and the joy of delivering completed beds to appreciative families. Many bed builders report the uplifting teamwork and mutual support leave them feeling energized to continue serving their community. Participating side by side on a SIP project forges new connections and community spirit that will extend far beyond the workshop.

Program Overview

Sleep in Heavenly Peace - Join Us in Making a Difference

Brother Knights, have you heard of the incredible charity Sleep in Heavenly Peace? Their mission is to ensure no child in our communities has to sleep on the floor. They build, assemble and deliver top-notch bunk beds for children and families in need.

We encourage you, your families and friends to watch this short but incredibly moving video showcasing their work bringing beds to two deserving little girls: [link to SIP video]

Warning - this video will bring tears to your eyes! But they will be tears of joy and hope seeing the absolute delight these children have receiving their own beds. Something so many of us take for granted.

The North Carolina chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace has built and delivered hundreds of beds across our state already, but they need our help to reach the many children still without a place to call their own at night.

We ask all our brother Knights to consider getting involved. Whether through financial donations, volunteering your time to build beds, or helping deliver them - any assistance would go a long way.

Just a few hours of your help with SIP can make all the difference for a child who has been sleeping on the floor or couch night after night. Please watch the video above and reach out to the NC chapter contact below if interested:

When we joined the Knights, we promised to help those in need. I can't think of a more worthwhile way to live up to those principles than ensuring children have a safe, comfortable place to sleep.

Will you help? Share the video and join us in this important mission!
