Program Purpose

Promote and support the development of strong and vibrant families. Each council establishes a committee to recognize a deserving Family of the Month and Family of the Year with potential for recognition on the international level.

Program Overview

Each month, the council Family of the Month committee selects one parish family that models Christian family values and visibly lives them every day. Supreme selects a family every month from North Carolina's submitted 10784s. The State Council will also select a different winning family.
Once a year, each participating council also selects one of the previous twelve Family of the Month winners to represent the council/parish as the potential international Family of the Year. The Knights of Columbus Family of the Year is chosen by the Supreme Council and recognized each year at the annual Supreme Convention.

Program Requirements

Councils are required to recognize twelve families throughout the fraternal year: one for each month. In addition, each council should submit a Family of the Year to their jurisdiction’s competition. Report activity using the Program Report Form (#10784) and the Family of the Year Entry Form (#10680). The 10784 is due by the 15th of the following month. Ensure that you also submit the completed 10784 to forms@kofcnc.org for State recognition.
