Program Purpose

Show public support for the right to life. Knights of Columbus councils are encouraged to participate in or sponsor local, state/provincial, regional or national Marches for Life. Councils that coordinate at least 25 participants or who organize a local March for Life will receive featured credit for this program.

Program Overview

To promote active participation in the national March for Life in January (Friday, January 23, 2026) as well as the various other Marches for Life in North Carolina, especially the Diocesan March in Charlotte and the State March in Raleigh. In addition, collaborate with local pregnancy centers to hold local Marches for Life throughout NC.  This offers a forum to collect ASAP donations for the sponsoring pregnancy center and register participants for the US election.

Since Roe v. Wade was overturned in June, 2022, there is less rationale to ensure our Marches for Life approximate the January timing.  In addition to the national event to be held on Friday, January 23rd, NC Right to Life and other pro life groups organize a state March in Raleigh which is planned for Saturday, March 7, 2026.  Plans are underway to establish a Belmont Abbey March for Life with proceeds for MiraVia, which will likely take place in 2026.  Our Tryon March for Life was held on June 21st, 2025 and our Forest City March for Life will be in September, 2025.  The Wilmington March for Life is planned for February 21, 2026.  Contact our Chairman, Brother Tim Will, for up-to-date information.

As a GK or DD, please consider teaming up with your local Pregnancy Center to sponsor a local March for Life…contact Tim Will for assistance.  We have found that having a KofC Council or District team with a local pregnancy center or pro-life organization is the best way to establish a local March for Life.

Other options for a public display of support for Life are also recommended, such as praying the rosary in front of a Planned Parenthood or other abortion center, or conducting and participating in a Life Chain (first Sunday in October is Life Chain Sunday).  These public displays for Life are all considered a part of the Marches for Life.
