Knights of Columbus Programs

Putting Faith in Action through service to our Church, families, communities, and those in need.

Knights of Columbus councils conduct programs throughout the Fraternal Year to put the principles of our Order into action. The primary Faith in Action programs are organized into four areas: Faith, Family, Community, and Life.

Supreme Council Faith in Action programs are supplemented by North Carolina State programs such as LAMB and Kids and Screens, along with other initiatives designed to support councils throughout the state.

Explore the four main program areas below. Each section contains program information, resources, and contact information to help councils successfully plan and report their activities.

Columbian Award Requirements

Successfully completing council programs helps a council earn the Columbian Award. Together with the Founders’ Award and McGivney Award, this makes a council eligible for the Star Council Award.

There are three program requirements for receiving the Columbian Award:

1

Support One Qualifying Program

Donate $500 to one of the following qualifying programs:

2

Complete Four Faith in Action Programs

Complete four Faith in Action programs: one each in the Faith, Family, Community, and Life categories. Programs should be similar to those described in the Faith in Action Program Guidebook .

3

Complete Three Additional Activities

Complete three programs or activities:

  • One to bring men closer to Christ
  • One to build fraternity and strengthen the bonds of friendship between the men of your council and/or parish
  • One to support your parish or community

These may be programs unique to your council and do not need to be designated Faith in Action programs. Completing Cor satisfies all three of these requirements.

Important: Programs used for Requirement 1 cannot also be counted toward Requirement 2. Programs used for Requirements 1 or 2 cannot also be submitted for Requirement 3.
